Brantford Potters Guild Children’s Classes

2019 Winter classes  begin the week of Jan 20th

Registration opens Jan 5th

Children’s Hand-building

$120.  8 weeks, 1 1/2 hour classes

Our children's classes offer kids (ages 7-13) the opportunity to use their imaginations to create fantastic works in clay they will be proud to share.  We'll get our hands dirty while learning the principles of working with clay using primarily hand-building techniques. Each week there will be a new and varied project for everyone to work on.  We'll explore a few methods of glazing, and you'll get to bring home some unique functional and creative treasures all your own! There is no charge for clay, and no tools to purchase for these classes.

Youth Wheel-throwing
$140.  8 weeks, 1 1/2 hour classes

An wheel throwing course for beginners ages 11 to 15. Instructors are trained school teacher(s) and experienced potters
Projects will be offered based on interest and skill levels achieved.

Tools can be purchased during registration for $20. Clay can be purchased from the instructor on the first night for $20 (payment in cash). 1-2 bags of clay will be plenty for the 8 week course.

"Get Muddy!" Summer Camps
Ages 7 to 13;$135/week, half days

Each session runs for 5 consecutive mornings. Campers' imaginations will be challenged and stimulated as they learn clayworking techniques to create fantastic, varied projects. Their work will be dried, fired, and decorated with underglazes and glazes so that they can take home unique functional and decorative treasures (made entirely by them from start to finish).

The week culminates in group construction of a collaborative group project. (Be sure to bring your cameras to photograph the finished work as it will not be fired.)
